Meet Our Team

Jim Simpson is the Principal of JK Analytics where he currently coaches and trains across various industries and organizations. He has blended practical application and industrial statistics leadership with academic experience focused on researching new methods, teaching excellence and the development and delivery of statistics courseware for graduate and professional education.  He served as an operations analyst for the Air Force, and led the Air Force’s largest test wing as Chief Operations Analyst.  He has served as full-time faculty at the Air Force Academy and Florida State University, and is now an Adjunct Professor at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) and the University of Florida.  He co-authored 49 peer-reviewed journal articles, 4 book chapters, conducted $1.3M in research, graduated as major advisor 8 PhD / 11 MS students, and received the Florida State University Teaching Award and FSU Engineering College Research Award.

Kiki Simpson currently does ad hoc biostatistical analysis and manuscript preparation for several medical doctors as well as the administrative functions for JK Analytics.  After graduating Cornell University in 1984 with degrees in mathematics and economics, she served 8 years in the US Air Force.  During this time she performed survey and promotion board analysis and earned her M.S. degree in Operations Research from the Air Force Institute of Technology.  She later was employed for two years by Intel as a statistician and yields analyst, followed by ten years as a statistician with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.

He served as Editor, Quality Engineering journal, and as Chair, American Society for Quality Publications Management Board.  He was the lead developer and instructor of 7 design of experiments and test science professional short courses and has personally taught over 200 short courses; plus his courses have been formally adopted by the Air Force at AFIT as well as Department of Defense-wide courses required by the Defense Acquisition University.  He is a Fellow of the American Society for Quality.  Jim’s education includes a PhD in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University (1995), a MS in Operations Research from the Air Force Institute of Technology (1987) and a BS in Operations Research from the US Air Force Academy (1982).
